Championship: Iheanacho set for Leicester City return against Birmingham

Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca has said Kelechi Iheanacho is in contention to face Birmingham City in their next Sky Bet Championship clash.

The Foxes will be the guests of Birmingham City at the St Andrews Stadium on Monday night.

Iheanacho has missed Leicester City’s last two games due to illnesses.

Maresca confirmed that the Nigeria international is among the quartet being assessed ahead of the game.

“Jamie’s [injury] was in training,” Maresca was quoted by the club’s official website.

“Unfortunately, for Monday, it’s impossible, but we’ll see. The good thing, for the next game, is that we have four days. In this moment, it’s something very strange.

“We played Wednesday and we’re going to play on Monday. [On Thursday], we had a session, Friday we’re off, and then Saturday and Sunday, we’ll prepare the game. Fortunately, having four days, they will have time to recover for Monday.”

Iheanacho has scored five goals in 18 league appearances for Leicester City this season.

Maresca’s side are currently top of the Sky Bet Championship table with 17 wins from 21 matches.
